What are some of the things you learned regarding arranged marriages?
While researching arranged marriages I learned that depending on the reasons for the arranged marriages people will meet their spouses at different times. Some would meet and know the person they were arranged to marry at a very young age and eventually marry them at the proper age or some might not meet until the night of the wedding. I also learned that there are some arranged marriages that take in consideration the persons' feelings and this is called a semi-arranged marriage. Overall I learned about the different types of arranged marriages.
What are some advantages of arranged marriages?
Some advantages to arranged marriages vary depending on the need and reason behind the arranged marriages. In some cases arranged marriages help unify two families and make alliances. Arranged marriages may also help prevent someone from making a rash decision. Not to mention these people don't have to search to find the person they want to be with.
What are some disadvantages of arranged marriages?
Some disadvantages of arranged marriages are the fact that there is no choice in the matter. Someone might be stuck with someone they can't stand for the rest of their life. Also a lot of cultures that practice arranged marriages don't believe in divorce. This makes it harder to get out of the relationship if its not a good relationship. Plus no one wants to not be able to pick the person they are going to be with for the rest of their lives.

Connection to Romeo and Juliet
If Romeo and Juliet were teens today, what do you think their relationship would be like?
If Romeo and Juliet were teens today I think they would still be in a relationship. I think that Romeo and Juliet would have a relationship that was moving a lot slower than their relationship did. Their relationship would probably just be a fling as well. I also think that they would have an easier time meeting up with each other in secret. Overall I don't think their relationship would change as much I just don't it would be as serious or quite as fast paced as their's was back then.
If Romeo and Juliet were living in our current society today, do you think they would still consider marriage at their age? Explain why/why not.
If Romeo and Juliet were living in our current society today I think they would not be thinking about marriage at their age. She is to young and he still might be a little young to be getting married. I think society would also judge them a lot. They are both young and they might not be sure about the decision. Overall don't think they would be thinking about marriage at their ages in todays society.
Today, some parents like to have control over who their children date and why. How is this similar to Lord and Lady Capulet wanting Juliet to marry Paris? Explain.
I think that some parents like to have control over who their children date because they want to make sure that person is the very best for their child. Every parent wants their kids to have the best and so they feel like picking someone for their child to date is another way to accomplish that goal. This is like Lord and Lady Capulet because they wanted Juliet to marry Paris because he was wealthy and strong and they thought he was the best for her. They didn't want anyone less for Juliet. Overall this is the only reason why in my opinion parents woud want to control who their children date.
